Jill Wright Crist is cello professor at Otterbein University and Columbus Cello School, LLC, as well as an ensemble coach for Chamber Music Connection. Jill is also a member of the Bryden String Quartet. She received her Master’s in Music from the Ohio State University in 2009, and Bachelor of Music in cello performance in 2002 from the University of Northern Colorado. She has also completed her long term Suzuki cello training at the University of Denver. Jill directed Suzuki Cello at Capital University and Suzuki Music Columbus. Jill is an active freelance and symphony musician, chamber music coach, and frequent guest teacher for workshops, institutes, and clinics across the nation. Jill has studied chamber music with The DaVinci String Quartet and Turtle Island String Quartet. She has toured through Japan with the Logos String Quartet in 2006 and 2007, and in 2008 and 2009 toured and soloed through Burgenland and Vienna, Austria with the Classical Music Festival. Jill performs regularly with several symphonies throughout Central Ohio and West Virginia. She holds memberships with The American String Teachers Association, The Suzuki Association of the Americas, and The American Federation of Musicians. Jill was recently name The Columbus Symphony Orchestra, 2020-2021, Private and Community Educator of the Year.
